Spring Dreams

A poem.

she sees spring dreams bloom
each blue sky tasting better
she basks in soft sunlight
looking for him until the end of light
always hiding from the night
darkness brings cold whispers and false hope

find her there
bundled in layers
eyes squeezed tight
always waiting for the sunshine
tomorrow’s light promises possibility
but the night never feels right

he sees starry nights soar
sprawled underneath black skies
moons vibration
a universal compass
to lead him to his one true love

find him there
shielding his soul from the sun
protecting his heart from the shine
always waiting for the darkness
searching in all the wrong places
always the wrong time
the love story that never was
