Decorum
An old forum.
It said I am decadent
But decorum is a better description
I’m more delicate eloquent, and elegant
And know decadal progression.
A Greek bloke once counted his fingers
And had an epiphanic moment and then
And being in a group of radical left-wingers
He decided the number he’d reached was ten.
He then undressed and counted his toes
And came up with the same result
Then I ran a decathlon without any clothes
And, with his mates, formed a decennial cult.
They romped, and some were deceitful.
And sold used cars, both frail and in decline
They worked out prices they said were beautiful
And we’re no better than despicable swine.
You may wonder where this story’ going
And was intended to explain a decal that tells
But be patient; you’ll very soon be knowing
Prefixes of dec set off the ringing of bells.
My life in tens is now easily explained
Now we’re all clear on the concept of a decade
In the first 10, I was unrestrained and untrained
Then by 20 had a sharp blade and trade.
By 30, I was married with four kids to feed
And by 40, divorced and travelled the world
And got lost smoking too much wacky weed
And by 50, a moustache 10 feet long that I twirled.
By 60, I’d lost hair teeth and hearing
And the old neurons were rickety too
And plan when I’m 70, I’ll be disappearing
Before I get up to my neck in deep pooh.
